I'm baaaaaack!!!

Why, hello there everyone! I'm so sorry to have completely fallen off the earth for a couple of months but I have a good reason! After not feeling well for a couple of weeks, I figured out that I'M PREGNANT!!!! Yep, baby Stilwater #4 will be joining us in late December! So exciting! Now, the reason for my absence is that I get very sick and miserable while I'm pregnant (especially in the beginning) so the last few months have been spent basically surviving with three other little boys to take care of. (Well, four if you include my hubby!) So there has been very little cute dressing happening! :) Also, I get HUGE while I'm pregnant and that doesn't really make for great fashion pictures so I don't know how many shots I'm going to post until after I have the baby. I'm sure I'll sneak a few in now and then but nothing regular, sorry!! BUT, I will be back later with a post featuring all of my maternity wardrobe staples so you can get a glimps of what I'll be wearing.  Thanks for sticking around! Can't wait to have this baby and get back to my old self!

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been around much lately. I'm really, really not feeling well and I haven't had the motivation to get dressed, let alone photograph anything. :( I'm hoping to be back on my feet soon! 

Capris!

So, what do you all think of the new blog look? Do you like it? I took an on-line course by Elise Blaha Cripe and it was AMAZING!!! I even coded the blog myself!!! Which, if you know me, is CRAZY! I'm pretty much totally computer illiterate. Just goes to show what a good teacher Elise is. :)

On to the outfit!  It was sunny for one day so I was able to bust out some capris - WOOT! (Of course, it rained the next day again.) Still, it was fun to wear them for one day!

What Was She Thinking:

Top - This isn't a color combo I've ever eally worn before so I felt a little bit uncomfortable in it, honestly. But I really wanted to wear my new vest so I just went with it. 

Bottom - Yay for warm weather and capris! For my shoes, I really wanted to wear flats but I don't have any that are opened toed (hello! Adding it to the shopping list!) so I went with my wedges instead.

Gray, Blue and Yellow and Some Fun News!

Hello! It's been a few days! I seriously have to figure out what to do for photos when it's pouring rain since it seems to be never ending here in Portland!

Soooo, I'm now down 8 lbs so I had to go buy new jeans - WOOT! I hit up the Goodwill and got 3 pairs and two pairs of capris, sweet!! Also, I have a fun new venture that I've started with my friend Michelle, I'm now making and selling handmade jewelry! YAY!!! I'm doing both fabric rosette and resin flower jewelry and accessories and I'm hoping to have them for sale on my blog (or at least linked to my Etsy shop) in the near future. I'm so excited!

What Was She Thinking:

Top - Both the cardi and tank are new...actually, come to think of it, the whole outfit is new to me except the necklace! So fun! I'm LOVING this color combo for Spring! I think I will be switching out the blue for pink a lot, too. What do you think? Is this a combo you would ever try?

Bottom - New-to-me jeans! Love the trouser style and these ones from Gap fit me perfectly! And the blue flats add a pop of color.

 

At Least It's Not Sweats

I'm sorry if this outfit is totally boring, but things have been SO busy around here and unfortunately, fashion has not been top on my list lately! BUT, I do think it's important (especially as a mama) to make myself a priority and at least attempt to put on something cute each day. (As opposed to just sweats!)

What Was She Thinking:

Top/Bottom - Since I didn't have much time to really think about my clothes today, I just went with my "uniform" - shirt, cardigan, cropped pants and cute wedges. That's my go-to look and it's one I know will pretty much always work on me. The strange thing is, I couldn't get any of my accessories to work so I just went without! That doesn't happen very often with me.

Perfect Fit

I saw this dress in the a store recently and immediately knew it was perfect for me! I didn't even have to try it on. Love it when that happens!

What Was She Thinking-

Top - This dress has sort of a 50's vibe to it but is made modern with the fun pattern and bright colors.  And it matches tons of my cardigans so that gives me lots of options.

Bottom - I went with my orange wedges this time but I thought brown flats would have been really cute, too.

Polka Dots and Plaid

I'm seriously liking this outfit. First, because these jeans used to be too tight and are now almost too loose, (woot!!) and second, I really like the mix of patterns with the polka-dots cardi and plaid scarf. Plus the yellow shirt is new and you know I feel about wearing new clothes (I love it!)

(Full disclosure: I had to wash baby barf off of the pants before I took the photos. Such is the life of a mama.) :)

What Was She Thinking-

Top - I was feeling like wearing yellow today and I thought it would be cute with the black and white cardi. And then as I was scanning my accessories, my eyes landed on this scarf and I thought, "hhmmm, I bet that would be interesting together!" And you know, it totally worked and I love the result!

Bottom - Originally I had on black wedges but I switched them out for my red ones because I thought it added a bit more interest to the outfit. I always think the shoes can make or break the look I'm going for.

 

Yes, I'm Wearing it Again

This teal cardigan, that is. It's pretty much my go-to cardi these days. I hope you're not getting sick of it!

What Was She Thinking -

Top - Hhhmm, didn't have much rhyme or reason for this outfit except I felt like wearing a patterned shirt and this one caught my eye.  My fave cardigan seemed to work so I just went with it. The necklace added a pop of another color.

Bottom - I thought navy pants would work better than jeans  (I'm tired of denim!) and the plaid shoes sort of tied all the colors of the outfit together.

A Little Tipsy - As I always say, don't be afraid to mix colors! Even if you wouldn't normally put them together (in this case for me, teal and navy), mixing it up can often be add up to great results!
